I have discovered a secret to winning the battles in my life. It has enabled me to get past them and live peacefully.
It is simple: I practice mindfulness. Mindfulness involves acceptance of my current situation. It means that I pay attention to my current thoughts and feelings without judging them. It enables me to focus on the present not the past or the future.
Mindfulness has enabled me to overcome anxiety, because anxiety for me is worry about the future.
- It has enabled me to overcome depression and cope with PTSD, because it prevents me from focusing on the past.
- It has also gives me the presence of mind to think clearly about my current issues and therefore make better decisions about what I need to do.
- Mindfulness means maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment.
