You will be remembered when you die as you lived!
How do you want others to remember you when you die? You want to be remembered well? Then please read on!
Today I attended a funeral service for a friend. There was no tension or bad feelings and the mood was peaceful, loving, and gentle. It was a celebration of a Christian life well lived. This funeral was exactly like I want my own to be.
What caused the positive mood of today’s funeral?
My friend lived peacefully. She was kind to others and helped them every chance she could. No one had a bad feeling or a bad word to say about her. Her life was celebrated as a loving, kind, gentle life that benefited everyone around her. Everyone spoke well of her and how much we loved her.
My Grandma’s funeral was like today’s funeral.
My Mother’s and older sister’s funeral probably will not have the mood of today’s funeral. They have not lived their lives peacefully and lovingly, helping others. They both have lived their lives tearing others apart and hurting them.
As you live, so others remember you when you die. If you want to be remembered well, you need to live well.
We all need to remember that no one knows when he or she will be called home. Each one of us needs to love each other every day of our lives and spend each day helping others with Christian love in our hearts. Today might be our last day to love and help others.
I hope my Mother and sister read this in time to change how they treat others!
Parents, set a good example for your children. Teach them how to treat others by your example. When they are older, they will do what you do, not what you tell them to do.
I believe our purpose on this earth is to love and help others. If everyone did this, the world will be a better place!
